Intro

This statement comprises the Privacy policy (the “Policy”) of the BestDPO Global (the “BestDPO”; “we”; “us”). We are a “Data Controller” and are required to comply with data protection law when handling your personal data. 

This Policy does not cover the BestDPO presence on social media platforms, such as Facebook. In the context of those platforms, we are merely another user and the privacy policies, as well as the terms and conditions, of those platforms apply. 

 

This Policy explains how we collect and process information that personally identifies you or enables us to contact you (“Personal Information”). We collect and process personal data relating to a range of individuals in the course of our business.

What personal data do we hold about you?

1) Signing up for  BestDPO updates: We use the subscriptions feature by a Wix plugin, to manage our email distribution list. When you provide your email address in the “Email Subscription” section of the  BestDPO and click “Subscribe”, your email address is provided by Wix to us. When you sign up to our mailing lists we will keep your name and email address on our database, to send you what you have asked to receive. 

 

2)Provision of services: We use our clients’ personal data to provide legal services and support to our clients. We use prospective clients’ personal data to develop relationships with them and to seek out new work and business opportunities.

We will only collect the personal data we need for these purposes.

3) Submit your article : We use your personal data to process your application,  and decide whether to publish your article or not. 

What is our legal basis for processing your personal data?

We can only process personal data if we have a legal basis for doing so. We process:

  • our clients’ personal data as this is necessary for us to be able to perform our contractual obligations ;

  • Subscription & Articles: We use your consent, when you sign-up form to sign for our subscription. 

Updating, correcting and accessing your personal details

We want to make sure the information we hold about you is correct and up to date. You can correct or update your information at any time by emailing contact@bestdpo.net. You can also request a copy of the information we hold about you on our database.

Changing your preferences

You can change your preferences or choose to stop receiving our mailings at any time by emailing contact@bestdpo.net

If you choose to stop receiving any mailings, we will remove you from our mailing lists but will retain your details on our database. We will keep your details on our database to retain a record that you do not want to receive any publications or invitations.

We will not contact you for marketing purposes. If you would like your details to be fully removed from our database, contact us at the address below.

Will personal data be shared outside the European Economic Area (EEA)?

In most circumstances personal data will not be transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area.  However, this may occur occasionally if our personnel are accessing the data outside of the EEA on company-issued or company-approved devices that have appropriate and adequate security, where this is in respect of temporary travel outside.

How do we protect your personal data?

We take the security of your personal data very seriously and have measures in place to protect it and to limit access to it. If we share your personal data externally, we will require the recipient to comply with applicable data protection requirements. 

How long will we keep this personal data?

We will keep personal data relating to our clients, their professional advisers and the advice we have given for the duration of our contract. In deciding how long to retain any personal data we will have regard to all our legal, regulatory and professional obligations including applicable data protection legislation.

We will keep personal data relating to prospective clients and business associates so that we can keep in contact with them unless and until we are specifically requested otherwise.

We keep your data for subscription for 1 year, after which we will ask you if you still want to get mails from us. 

What rights do you have in relation to your personal data?

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you and require us to change it if it is incorrect, incomplete or out of date.

In some circumstances, you can also object to processing of your personal data or ask us to restrict processing or to delete your personal data. However, we may have legitimate grounds for continuing to process or retain such personal data. If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please email contact@bestdpo.net

You should be aware that:

  • exercising any of these rights could potentially impact our ability to provide advice.

  • information will generally be provided to you free of charge, but we may charge a reasonable fee in certain circumstances.
